JULIANA: Hello, and welcome back to another episode of Dance Break. I'm Juliana, and I'm a firm believer that anyone can dance, but that nobody can dance like you can. You enjoy these videos, please click the Subscribe button down below to help us grow our channel. All right, my friends, let's get started.

JULIANA: On this episode, I will be joined by Claudia, another amazing member of our community, who will inspire you to let loose and get in touch with the dancer inside of you.

DESCRIPTION: Quick video clips of Claudia dancing at home. She is a young woman with shoulder-length brown hair.

JULIANA: Claudia is a participant in our online group classes. She is also a regular attendee of our online dance parties, and often performs at our online open mic nights.

JULIANA: During this episode, we are going to be doing a very popular group dance called Watch Me, otherwise known as the Whip and the Nae Nae. We're really fortunate because the dance moves are a part of the lyrics, but there are a few specific movements that you may want to know ahead of time. Now Claudia and I will be using moves that we like to do and that feel good in our body, but you should feel free to do the moves that work best for you and your body.

JULIANA: The first move is called the Whip. I like to do The Whip by lifting one arm into the air at about shoulder height. It doesn't matter which arm you would like to use. Then, I bend that arm at the elbow, and I push it out diagonally across my chest.

JULIANA: For the next move, we're going to lift the opposite arm in the air, and we're going to rotate the hand around in a circle from the wrist. This is called the Nae-Nae, and it's almost as if you're swinging and a lasso in the air. Let's put those together with the lyrics.

JULIANA:(SINGING) You're going to whip, and then you nae-nae.

JULIANA: Next, you're going to need two Whips followed by a Nae-Nae. So I start with the original arm, I bring it up to shoulder height with a bent elbow, and I push it out diagonally across my chest. Then I'm going to do the same move on the opposite side. So I do another Whip, and then I use that same arm, bring it up in the air, and rotate the hand around in a circle from the wrist for the Nae-Nae. Let's put the entire sequence together with the lyrics from the beginning of the song.

JULIANA: (SINGING) You're going to whip, and then you nae-nae. Then you whip, whip, and then you nae-nae.

JULIANA: Beautiful Work. For the next few moves, I'm going to be using my arms as well as my legs to illustrate the movements. The first one is called the Stanky Leg. So I like to bring my hand up in front of my nose and wave it back and forth like I'm smelling something really stanky. Not just stinky, but stanky.

JULIANA: If you would like to involve the leg as well, you're going to rotate it in towards your body and then out to the side. In towards the body, and out to the side. Next the lyrics say, Break your legs, but at Daniel's Music Foundation we prefer to say, Shake your legs. So in order to do that, we bring the legs in and then out, in and then out.

JULIANA: (SINGING) Now shake your legs. Shake your legs. Tell 'em, shake your legs. Shake your legs.

JULIANA: Fantastic job. The next move is my favorite because it's the Bop, and you should feel free to Bop in the way that feels best to you. I actually think that's what helps make the world go round, everybody just Bopping in the way that feels best to them. I like to Bop by bending my knees, and then just bouncing up and down. Maybe the shoulders get involved.

JULIANA: (SINGING) And then you bop, bop, bop, bop, bop. And then you bop, bop, bop, bop, bop.

JULIANA: That was fantastic. Next we have a move called the Yule. Now I like to Yule by bending my knees, hinging forward slightly from the waist, and bringing my arms back as if I'm about to dive into a pool. I love this because the next move is called the Superman, and it makes it really easy to just extend my legs, straighten my upper body, and bring my arms into the air like I'm flying.

JULIANA: (SINGING) You yule and then your Superman. Then you yule, and then your Superman.

JULIANA: Excellent work. Our final move is a move called the Duff. Now I like to Duff by bringing both my arms up a little lower than shoulder height, and I bend both arms at the elbows. Then I'm going to swing one arm forward just to let it cross the midline or center of my body, and then I'm going to rotate in my rib cage to bring the other arm just past center of my body. And then switch back again, and again, and again. Let's try it with the lyrics.

JULIANA:(SINGING) I'm going to duff, duff, duff, duff, duff.

JULIANA: Wonderful job, my friends. Now, there are a couple of times in the song where they're going to sing--

JULIANA:(SINGING) Watch me, watch me. Ooh, watch me, watch me. Ooh, watch me, watch me. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh.

JULIANA: And during those sections I want you to feel free to let loose and just improvise, freestyle a little bit. Let's try it.

JULIANA: (SINGING) Watch me, watch me. Ooh. Watch me, watch me. Ooh. Watch me, watch me. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh. Watch me, watch me. Ooh. Watch me, watch me. Ooh. Watch me, watch me. Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh.

JULIANA: That was awesome. So those are the choreographed moves if you would like to use them. Now even though we're using a group dance, remember, that enjoying music through dance may look different for everyone. And that's OK, because there's no right or wrong way to enjoy a dance break. Like the motivational quote says, It doesn't matter how you do it, just never miss a chance to dance.

JULIANA: Claudia, thank you so much for taking the time to appear on Dance break.

CLAUDIA: I'm really excited to be here. Thank you for inviting me to come to perform with you.

JULIANA: Can you tell our viewers what you like most about dance?

JULIANA: Dance is a really good exercise for me.

JULIANA: That's an outstanding answer, Claudia. You know I feel the same way. Dancing really is a great workout. Now I just have one more question for you. Are you ready to rock and roll? Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, let's go, bring it.

JULIANA: Awesome. Let's do this. All right, my friends, you know I like to begin by just feeling that music a little bit. Ooh Claudia, I see you are feeling that music.
